At a trip to a local resale shop, I found two small super cute chairs. One is a straight back cane seat style and the other is a wicker chair.

For now, the straight back is in my booth holding necklaces, so that gave me the opportunity to do something fun with the wicker one. The color was a faded white and I wanted it to have a cool, worn coastal feel.

After I got the turquoise on, I started adding a sunflower. It’s not quite finished, but I wanted to show you how it’s going.

I’m in the process of making art for my Etsy shop. You heard that right! Etsy shop! I’m going to do it!!! I always chicken out, but I’m going to do it this time. My favorite number is 22, so I’m making 22 pieces. My target “get the shop open by date” is March 26, 2023, in honor of my momma.

I’ve got more pieces to show you soon. I’m working on a really unique flower that’s going to be so pretty when it’s finished. It’s got decoupaged paper and sparkly jewels.

Hope you’re having a great week. Thanks for being here.

    • Thank you- I started out with a sunflower stencil, then added my own thing. The brush kept going- haha! Thanks so much- I can’t wait to get it done so you can see it. I made some new canvas pieces that are really unique and so pretty.

  1. The chair looks great! Good luck with your Etsy shop! I think you should offer custom pieces made with vintage jewelry. Just a thought because you are so talented. Or offer heart pieces around Valentine’s day, Christmas trees in December. Or whatever you think of because I am sure you have a ton of great ideas! I can’t wait to see what you come up with!

    • Hi Betty! Wow, thank you so much!! I appreciate your confidence in my ideas and art!!! What wonderful ideas, too. I will be getting my first ‘custom order’ soon… My momma’s cousin (who is also my great aunt Esther’s niece) recently asked me if I could make some pieces with some of Esther’s jewelry for family. Esther is going on 104 in May. I’m going to make trinket boxes and canvas pieces. Pretty excited about being asked!
