Upcoming October Art Show

Saturday I filled out and sent in my application for a local Arts and Crafts Fair put on by the Women’s Civic Club.

If you’re new around here, I wrote about how I found out about their show last October and how I was soooooo scared to call to see if they had any booths open.

(Here’s that post if you’d like to see it: https://jeweledagainbyjessica.com/2021/11/16/first-arts-and-crafts-fair/ )

That show was a great experience for me, so I knew I wanted to do it again. This year it’s on October 8. I’m in the planning part of trying to figure out what kinds of art I’ll make and take that day.

Some new ideas have emerged that I’m excited about. There will be a couple of new twists on some things I’ve made before.

For instance, I made this piece out of bracelet connectors, pendant parts, earrings, a pocket watch dial, a flower, and a butterfly from an earring.

I love it because it makes a unique piece of art that you can’t get anywhere else. Which is actually, one of the things I love most about art.

We are individual and our art is individual. One of a kind for both. That’s pretty cool if you think about it. I bet we could sit down at the same table with similar supplies and all come up with our own style of art!

Also, for the show, I decided to order some more artist cards. I told you about the first ones I ordered back in June. (Here’s the link if you’d like to see it: https://jeweledagainbyjessica.com/2022/06/17/artist-cards/ )

They came today and I want to show you how beautiful they are!

Now I have two different cards for my booth.

Ok, I LOVE them!! I searched forever for a card that represents M E. My style with vintage jewelry. Her cards are exactly what I had in mind.

Her website is https://www.etsy.com/shop/pikakepress if you’d like to look.

Can’t wait to share how the pieces for this art show come together. I think it’ll be really fun.

Hope you have a wonderful Tuesday!

  1. Congrats, this is so exciting you’ll be in the Arts and Crafts Fair! Going for the second time, you probably have a better idea of what to expect and how to make it enjoyable and successful. And I’m totally swooning over your artist cards, they are adorable!

    • Hi!! That’s very sweet. I love those cards. That’s true, a second time does give me an idea of how things work. It’s shorter this year, too. 9 am to 1 pm. Last year was 9 am to 3 pm. There are several craft fairs the same day about an hour from here. So, we will see about turn out. I have been reading a website called Made Urban. I don’t know her, but she has free emails about how to set up a booth and things. Excellent information. Thank you for reading. Appreciate that so much!

    • I’m not sure how I missed your comment! I’m not getting notifications on some things out in internet world… So, here’s a late thank you reply. Thank you!!! I’m so happy you like them!!

  2. The cards are perfect and I’m sure people will take them. Good luck with the show! I’m sure you’ll do well and one of the the nice things about events like this is that it gives you exposure to people who may not shop online or even have internet at all (yes, those people still exist and there are many of them!)

    • Good morning. Great point about not everyone having internet or shopping online. Thank you, I like this show because the $25 booth fee all the vendors pay, helps the Civic Club with their projects during the year. I think they help with things like Project Graduation and help elderly pay electric bills. They also have a Blessings Box in town that people can leave food in for whoever needs some.

    • Hi! Thank you- I like how the flower turned out. It’s different. Thank you. I’m excited to see if anyone takes a card. I didn’t have any at last year’s show. How are you doing? I’ve been drooling over your recipes! Today’s looked really yummy!

    • I guess I did! 😊😊 Thank you. I made some trinket boxes for a show I did in April. They’re very pretty. I figured out a way to make them a bit different. I think they’ll be neat! I think more people may relate to them.
