Giraffes and Rhinestones

Some cool new and vintage jewelry that I ordered came. Because I don’t have an endless amount of spending to go towards jewelry art, I shop around. Shopping around has gotten me some pretty amazing jewelry for a decent price.

New to me this week is this gorgeous brooch!

the seller offered me.a discount
and I got it for $9 plus shipping

I’ve also been looking for giraffe jewelry to use in a piece I’m working on for my niece. I found a vintage brooch lot on eBay and I asked for a slight discount. My offer was accepted! I got it today:

brooches I got for $5 plus shipping

Here’s the giraffe in it:

Pretty great deals, I thought. Lots are nice because you can make multiple pieces of art with whatever’s included.

My niece’s giraffe is a work in progress, but I thought I’d show you how it’s going. I’ll add that new giraffe brooch in somewhere.

There’s a craft show coming up in October. I’m excited to be able to use these pieces to create some fun stuff for it.

Hope you have a wonderful day!

  1. So creative! The giraffe is cute. I’m interested in hearing more about the craft show. Do you sell your jewelry art there?

    1. Hello. Thank you. I think she’ll like it.
It’s a local Arts and Crafts Fair. The Women’s Civic Club hosts it. The booth fee is $25 for each vendor, then the Civic Club uses that money for needs around town. Like, I think they help elderly pay electric bills and things.

I do. Last year was my first booth. I took 31 pieces and came home with 9. I’m hoping to take around the same amount this time. It’s in October.

    1. Hi! Thank you so much! Trying to find the jewelry is a lot of fun. Even better when it’s a deal. Thank you, it’s my first giraffe. One niece asked for a cat. The other suggested a giraffe. Love new art adventures. I love the work that you do- such pretty scrapbook papers.

  4. I am excited to see what you will do with the giraffe on the giraffe! I have an idea where you might put it, so I will wait to see if I could be right! I have a number of vintage pieces (mostly pins and brooches) from my mother, and both grandmothers. I might give this a try to do something for my nieces!

    1. Aww! I love that you have vintage pieces from your mother and grandmothers. I bet your nieces would treasure something you make with them. How sweet that would be! Ooo! Love that you have an idea where the giraffe could go! I’m excited to see if we choose the same spot!

  5. I have that same giraffe brooch! Yep! I wear it every once in a while. I can’t remember where I got it though. I’ve had it a long time. I also have a rose pin very similar to the one in your picture. It may be the same; I can’t tell for sure. I look forward to seeing how this piece comes out. Giraffes are a beautiful animal!

    1. Oh my gosh, you do?? That’s really cool that I ended up with the same giraffe brooch you have!! Love that! I love those rose pins. Elegant, yet simple. Wonder if they’re the same… Did you see that oval brooch? I think that is someone’s counted cross stitch in there. It’s really pretty. Can’t believe I got all those pieces for $5. Pretty cool!
