Most of you know that I lost my momma at the end of March. It was incredibly sudden and shocking, so it’s been a huge adjustment with some grief filled moments since.
I have written about artist block from it and also talked about what it’s been like. Here are a couple links, if you’d like to see.

Today, I’m home!! As in, at my dad’s. I hadn’t seen him since my momma’s life celebration on May 1st, and I have been sooooooooo homesick.
The timing finally worked out and my kiddo and I made the 8 hour drive to my parent’s house.
And, guess what I was greeted with?!?!? That’s right, jewelry! My dad and baby sister go to a lot of yard sales and auctions and they’ve been getting jewelry for my art! How cool is that?
Here are some of the necklaces:

They gave me a lot more pieces that I will show you soon. This morning, we are off to some garage sales, so hopefully, I can find some more cool stuff.
I can’t even tell you how amazing it feels to see my dad and sister again. I’m so HaPpY to be here!!
Hope you have a wonderful day!
Jessica

Jessica, this is very touching! Your jewelry is helping someone else probably in a way you hadn’t thought of. I imagine your dad and your sister on the hunt for jewelry for you is a positive activity for them. It’s a shared activity for them. It gives them a purpose. A loving purpose. And one which gives them something else to think about besides their loss. These pieces have lots of character, and I can’t wait to see what you create!

Hi. I hadn’t thought of that. That’s very sweet. Thank you for that.
Thank you- I think I may make some more trinket boxes with some of them. I haven’t made any since that April craft show.

Hi!!! I’ve been wondering about you- are you still evacuated? I haven’t seen the news.
Oh my, yesssssssss!!! Soul soothing. Being with my momma’s things and in her yard with her flowers- is bittersweet, but mostly sweet. ❤️ We just left a garage sale. I got 3 heart necklaces and a ziplock bag of jewelry for $6. I’m so happy to be with my dad and sister. Happy tears!!
