Jewelry Art Recipe

Yesterday I was thinking about something pretty cool. Jewelry art is sort of like cooking.

In cooking, we have an idea of what we want to eat, gather the ingredients we need, put them together by tweaking them here and there for flavor, and we end up with the dish we wanted.

Jewelry art is similar. We envision what we’d like to create and by putting some things together, we can make what we envisioned.

Here’s my recipe for jewelry art.

Super Cool Jewelry Art Recipe:

  • basis- such as a canvas
  • spices- things to jazz up the canvas like paint or paper
  • ingredients- jewelry pieces
  • binder- glue (like eggs in baking)
  1. Choose canvas size.
  2. Decide whether to leave it white, paint it, or decoupage it with paper.
  3. Pick out some jewelry pieces you might like to use.
  4. ‘Try’ the pieces on the canvas until you find a combination you love.
  5. Glue the pieces on.
  6. Let the glue dry.
  7. Finished! Hang on the wall, sit in an easel, or give to a friend.

To show you what I mean, I started with a canvas. After stenciling a heart on and letting the paint dry, I picked out some pieces I thought might work.

‘Trying them on’ is the fun part!

Here are some of ideas I tried:

The same thing with an added bead border:

I took those off and tried a single, large flower brooch:

I removed that and tried these:

Next, came a simple rose:

And, lastly, I tried more of a boho look:

Like vegetables in a soup recipe, we can add this or that to our jewelry art until we get something we get excited about and want to show the world!

Like a mile-high-perfect-homemade- meringue-topped pie, jewelry art can be something to be proud of, too.

    • Hello! I like that first one, too. Those pieces sort of look like an angel. Thank you, I think that stencil is very pretty. I love that that rose pin. Such a beauty all on its own, love that you have one, too. Thank you so much- I looked up Designerr. Thank you for that suggestion. Maybe I will try an ebook. Just for fun.
